His Excellency Mr. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, Ambassador of United Arab Emirates called on Ambassador Mohammad Imran Mirza, Director General, Foreign Service Academy (FSA), Islamabad on 25 February 2021 and also visited the training facilities at the Academy.

The Director General briefed the Ambassador about the various training activities of the Academy and its role in imparting training to foreign diplomats from friendly countries. The two sides expressed interest in exploring possibilities of cooperation in the field of diplomatic training.

Since its establishment in September 1981, the Foreign Service Academy has been imparting diplomatic training to both Pakistani as well as foreign diplomats. The Academy has trained 1437 diplomats from 109 countries across the world so far.

Ambassador Najm us Saqib Resume Responsibilities as the New Director General of the Foreign Service Academy



Ambassador Najm us Saqib has joined the Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad, as its new Director General. He resumed his responsibilities as the 27th Director General of the Academy on 27 July 2020.

Ambassador Najm us Saqib joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1985 as a career diplomat. Holder of a Master of Science degree in National Security and War Studies from the National Defence University (NDU), he is also a Law Graduate.

Ambassador Saqib has served in various countries of the world including Bangladesh, Spain, Azerbaijan, Kenya and Canada.

In Havana, he served as the first ever resident Ambassador of Pakistan to Cuba from 2007 to 2010. He was Pakistan's High Commissioner in South Africa (2014-2017) and Ambassador of Pakistan to Brazil (2017-2020) with concurrent accreditation to ten countries of Africa and South America.

Ambassador Najm us Saqib has been a visiting Faculty Member of various academic institutions of Pakistan. He has authored five books of poetry and prose in three languages. On his literary works, he received "2011 Excellence in Literature Award" by Bolan Academy.

The Foreign Service Academy is the training arm of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is primarily responsible for training of the junior and mid-career level diplomats of Pakistan and the world. The Academy has trained 1423 national and 1437 foreign diplomats till date.
