Online workshop on “Pakistan – Bulgaria: Bilateral Cooperation in Security, Economy and Energy”, jointly organized by Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad (FSA) and Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute (BDI), was held on November 10, 2022.

The workshop opened with welcome remarks by Ms. Tanya Mihaylova (Director BDI) and Amb. Dr. Mazhar Javed, (Director General FSA).

1st session was moderated by Dr. Asima Rabbani of FSA. The panelists of the session were Mr. Angel Orbetsov, (Ambassador-at-large, MFA, Bulgaria), Amb (R) Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry (former foreign secretary of Pakistan) and Mr. Dragomir Zakov (Ambassador-at-large, MFA, Bulgaria).

2nd session was moderated by Dr. Valentin Katrandzhiev from BDI. The panelists were Amb (R) Mansoor Ahmad Khan (Pakistan), Mr. Dimitar Ivanov (Expert at BDI) and Mr. Asif Iqbal (researcher from Pakistan).

Closing remarks were delivered by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Bulgaria, H.E. Mariam Madiha Aftab, and Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan, H.E. Irena Gancheva.

The workshop was attended by the faculty of both the FSA and BDI. The under-training officers of Pakistan Foreign Service and foreign diplomats undertaking Junior diplomatic Course at FSA also attended the workshop.
