As part of academic outreach and institutional collaboration with the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), probationary officers attended a day long Seminar on “Indus Water Treaty: Issues and Recommendations” held at ISSI on 29 Aug 2017.

Honourable Foreign Minister of Pakistan Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif was the Chief Guest. Amb (r) Khalid Mahmood, Chairman ISSI gave the opening remarks and conducted the session.

The following aspects of the Indus Water Treaty were covered in the Seminar by the prominent speakers:-
* Overview of the Treaty by Mr. Sardar Muhammad Tariq, CEO/Chairman Pakistan Water Partnership (PWP)
* Contemporray Legal Discourse on the Treaty by Mr. Ahmer Bilal Soofi, President, Research Society of International Law
* Indian Constructions on Western Rivers; Pakistani Perspective by Mr. Muhammad Shams ul Mulk, former Chairman WAPDA
* Recommendations for Enhancing Effectiveness of IWT by Mr. Mirza Asif Baig, Commissioner, Pakistan Commission for Indus Water (PCIW)
